Product Information "Holmenkol Racing Black Bar Blue 150 g"
Holmenkol Racing Black Bar Blue is the series’ racing wax for cold snow: snow temperatures ranging from -8 to -15 degrees, from fine to coarse or wet. The new-generation carbon matrix delivers measurably more speed than the FF World Cup Bars and lasts longer on aggressive, cold snow.
Holmenkol Racing Black Bar Blue: the cold-weather end of the series
- √ Further-developed Matrix of the FF World Cup Bars with a specially adapted carbon modification
- √ Measurably better speed and glide performance than its predecessor, tested by the World Cup team
- √ Improved mechanical properties, high wear resistance on cold, sharp snow
- √ Maximum water and dirt repellency, very high acceleration
- √ Ironing temperature: 120 to 140 degrees
- √ Fluorine-free, 150 g bar
When do you use Blue?
Blue is designed for snow temperatures ranging from -8 to -15 degrees, making it ideal for early-morning runs in January, north-facing slopes, and artificial snow in clear weather. For temperatures between -4 and -10 degrees, Red is the more flexible choice; for 0 to -4 degrees, Yellow is recommended. If you’re unsure whether to choose Red or Blue: Blue is harder and handles aggressive snow better.
Here’s how to use it
Clean the base, apply the wax by ironing at 120 to 140 degrees, move the iron a little more slowly due to the hardness of the wax, let it cool, peel it off, and brush it out with a nylon and horsehair brush. A 150-gram bar is enough for about 15 to 25 pairs of alpine skis, depending on the thickness of the application.
Is the wax fluorine-free?
Yes, the entire Racing Black Bar series is fluorine-free and complies with the regulations of international ski federations.
What is the difference between these and the FF World Cup Bars?
The matrix has been further developed with a specially adapted carbon modification for more speed and greater abrasion resistance.
Can I mix Blue with Red?
Yes, a 1:1 mix is standard at temperatures around -8 degrees. Set the ironing temperature to 125 to 130 degrees.
