Red+ or Red
The advantage lies in the temperature range: Red+ works from -1 to -6 degrees, while the standard Red works from -4 to -12 degrees. For snow just below freezing—as is typical in spring races or on artificial snow—go with the Red+. Yellow covers 0 to -4 degrees, and Blue covers -10 to -20 degrees.
Here’s how to use it
Sprinkle a thin layer onto the already waxed and brushed base, iron it on quickly at 150 to 160 degrees, let it cool, and brush it out with a horsehair and nylon brush. Use sparingly: 30 g is enough for many pairs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the powder replace the base wax?
No. It is the final layer applied over a suitable glide wax—not a substitute for it.
What kind of wax iron do I need?
A digitally controlled iron with a thick plate. The temperature must remain stable between 150 and 160 degrees.
Is it fluorine-free?
Yes, completely fluorine-free and compliant with competition rules.
