Skisocken richtig wählen: Polsterung, Material, Passform

Der Skischuh ist angepasst, die Ski sind frisch geschliffen, und trotzdem werden die Füsse schon am zweiten Lift kalt. Meistens liegt das nicht am Schuh, sondern an dem, was darin steckt. Socken sind das dünnste Teil deiner Ausrüstung und haben grossen Einfluss darauf, wie warm und wie präzise du einen Skitag überstehst.

Der häufigste Fehler sind dicke Wandersocken oder gleich zwei Paar übereinander. Beides macht den Fuss nicht wärmer, sondern kälter. Ein Skischuh hat ein festes Volumen. Alles, was du zusätzlich hineinpackst, drückt auf den Fuss und bremst die Durchblutung genau dort, wo die Wärme herkommen soll. Der zweite Klassiker ist Baumwolle: Sie saugt Schweiss auf, gibt ihn kaum wieder ab und kühlt den Fuss dann von innen aus.

Skisocken richtig wählen: Polsterung, Material und Passform

Ein guter Skisocken ist erstaunlich dünn, sitzt faltenfrei und hat die Polsterung genau dort, wo die Schale drückt: am Schienbein, am Spann und an der Ferse. Alles andere ist Stoff, der im Weg liegt. Drei Dinge entscheiden, welches Modell zu dir passt.

Polsterung: mehr Stoff heisst nicht mehr Wärme

Die Polsterung bestimmt, wie direkt du im Schuh stehst. Je dünner der Socken, desto unmittelbarer kommt jede Bewegung am Ski an. Mehr Polster heisst mehr Komfort und Schutz, aber auch mehr Spiel im Schuh. Bei den Skistrümpfen von Falke siehst du das Prinzip gut, und die Zahl im Namen ist dabei keine Dickenskala: Der SK2 ist der mittelstark gepolsterte Allrounder für Freizeitfahrer, SK4 und SK5 sind deutlich dünner und auf angepasste Custom-Fit-Schuhe ausgelegt, der SK7 Race ist ultraleicht für maximale Kontrolle.

  • √ Du fährst gemütlich und magst es warm: mittelstarke Polsterung
  • √ Du hast einen angepassten oder engen Schuh: leichte bis ultraleichte Polsterung
  • √ Du fährst sportlich oder Rennen: so dünn wie möglich
  • √ Der Schaft drückt am Schienbein: Modell mit gezielter Schienbeinpolsterung statt dickerem Socken

Merinowolle oder Kunstfaser

Merino wärmt auch dann noch, wenn der Socken feucht ist, und riecht nach einem langen Tag deutlich weniger. Reine Wolle wäre zu wenig robust, deshalb arbeiten fast alle Hersteller mit Mischungen aus Merino und Kunstfaser. Reine Kunstfaser trocknet schneller und ist abriebfester, verliert dafür beim Geruch.

  • √ Kunstfaser: schnell trocken, robust, gut für schweissige Füsse
  • √ Baumwolle: gehört nicht in den Skischuh

Länge, Passform und was sonst noch im Schuh liegt

Skisocken sind Kniestrümpfe, und das hat einen Grund: Der Bund muss oberhalb des Schaftabschlusses enden, sonst scheuert die Kante auf der Wade. Achte ausserdem auf Modelle, die für den linken und den rechten Fuss unterschiedlich gestrickt sind. Jede Falte im Schuh wird nach drei Stunden zur Druckstelle. Falls du lange Skiunterwäsche trägst, zieh das Hosenbein glatt unter den Socken oder nimm eine kürzere Variante.

Skisocken für Kinder

Bei Kindern wird am häufigsten zum dicken Wollsocken gegriffen, und genau das macht die Füsse kalt. Kinderskischuhe sind eng, das Volumen fehlt schlicht. Ein dünner Skisocken in der richtigen Grösse, der nicht in Falten liegt, funktioniert klar besser. Bleibt der Fuss trotzdem kalt, liegt es meist am zu kleinen oder zu grossen Schuh und nicht am Socken.

Skisocken für die Skitour

Beim Aufstieg schwitzt der Fuss, bei der Abfahrt kühlt er aus. Tourenmodelle setzen deshalb auf hohen Feuchtigkeitstransport und teilweise auf leichte Kompression, die die Wadenmuskulatur unterstützt. Waschen und trocknen

Wasch sie bei 30 bis 40 Grad und halte dich ans Pflegeetikett. Weichspüler gehört nicht dazu: Er legt sich auf die Fasern und bremst genau den Feuchtigkeitstransport, für den du bezahlt hast. Ein Spezialwaschmittel für Funktionswäsche ist die bessere Wahl. Merino trocknest du an der Luft statt auf der Heizung. Und der Schuh selbst gehört nach jedem Tag geöffnet und durchgetrocknet, am schnellsten mit einem Schuhtrockner.

Wenn die Füsse trotzdem kalt bleiben

Manche Füsse werden auch mit dem besten Socken nicht warm. Dann hilft Technik statt Stoff: beheizbare Socken mit Akku oder eine Skischuh-Heizung, die sich in den bestehenden Schuh einbauen lässt. Beides ist die ehrlichere Lösung als ein dickerer Socken, der das Problem meistens verschlimmert. Drückt der Schuh dagegen an einer bestimmten Stelle oder schläft der Fuss regelmässig ein, gehört das in die Werkstatt zum Bootfitting und nicht in einen neuen Sockenkauf. Bring zum Anpassen immer die Socken mit, mit denen du auch fährst, sonst stimmt die Passform nachher nicht.

Zwei bis drei gute Paar decken eine normale Saison ab: So kannst du zwischendurch waschen und startest nie in einem feuchten Socken. Häufige Fragen zu Skisocken

Sind zwei Paar Socken im Skischuh sinnvoll?

Nein. Zwei Paar füllen das Schuhvolumen, drücken auf den Fuss und verschlechtern die Durchblutung. Das Ergebnis sind kältere Füsse, nicht wärmere. Ein passender Socken reicht.

Wie dick soll ein Skisocken sein?

So dünn, wie es der Komfort zulässt. Bei angepassten Schuhen sind leichte bis ultraleichte Polsterungen richtig, bei Freizeitschuhen darf es eine mittelstarke Polsterung mit Schienbein- und Spannschutz sein.

Merino oder Kunstfaser, was ist besser?

Eine Mischung aus beidem. Merino bringt Wärme und wenig Geruch, die Kunstfaser Abriebfestigkeit und schnelles Trocknen. Reine Baumwolle ist im Skischuh in jedem Fall die falsche Wahl.

Darf man Skisocken in den Tumbler geben?

Modelle mit hohem Merinoanteil besser nicht, sie können einlaufen und verlieren an Elastizität. An der Luft trocknen ist sicherer. Massgebend ist immer das Pflegeetikett.

Wie oft soll ich Skisocken wechseln?

Jeden Skitag. Ein Socken, der vom Vortag noch Restfeuchtigkeit hat, kühlt den Fuss von Anfang an und erhöht das Risiko für Druckstellen und Blasen.

Passen Skisocken auch zu Snowboardboots?

Ja. Snowboardboots sind weicher und brauchen weniger Schienbeinschutz, die Grundregeln bleiben aber dieselben: dünn, faltenfrei, kein Baumwollanteil und pro Tag ein frisches Paar.
