Holmenkol Cleaner is the cleaner and wax remover for your waxing room: It removes old wax, grease, oil, and resin from the base, clothing, and hands; it’s easy to dispense from the 500-ml bottle; and it evaporates without leaving any residue.
Holmenkol Cleaner: Clean the base before waxing
Before every hot waxing session, you need to remove the old wax film along with dirt and abrasion; otherwise, the new wax won’t adhere. Apply the cleaner to a paper towel or kitchen paper, rub the base in the direction of travel, let it air out for two to three minutes, and then brush it off. The same method works for wax stains on ski pants and for resin from skins on your hands. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas; keep away from ignition sources.

Do I need to use the cleaner before every waxing session?
Yes, before hot waxing, if the base is dirty or had a different wax on it. If the base is clean, simply wiping it down and brushing it is sufficient.
Does the cleaner damage the base?
No, it’s designed for sintered and extruded bases. After cleaning, let the base air dry before waxing; otherwise, the wax will draw the solvent into the base.
Does it work on skins, too?
Yes, for resin residue on hands and ski edges. Do not use it on the skin adhesive itself—that’s what the Holmenkol Skin Cleaner is for.
