Marcel Hirscher Colors: The video
At the end of the most successful season of his career, Marcel Hirscher has realized a very special project as a thank you for his fans: On the Reiteralm, the 26-year-old is celebrating a unique firework display of colors on a slope prepared especially for him: "This action is the perfect present for a brilliant season," says Marcel happily about his colorful ride.
"The course that the guys here have prepared especially for this project is really steep for a slalom slope," beams the four-time overall World Cup winner. "At the top we have a gradient of almost 75 percent and the last section, where it goes right through the trees, is really tough! In terms of racing skiing, I've never experienced it like this before."
After the speedy run through the extra-steep forest of poles, it's not just the course set by Head Coach Mike Pircher that is bathed in color. Marcel also looks like a colorful dog: "It wasn't easy to ride at the speed I normally do in the race," he says shortly afterwards. "I was blind for a fraction of a second at every gate! One moment you're driving through a thick wall of blue and yellow fog, the next you have a completely clear view again."
Thanks to the media crew on site, Marcel Hirscher's fans now have that too. "We tried to incorporate new cool elements into skiing and capture them in brilliant pictures," says Marcel. "I think we succeeded.”
