Product Information "Black Crows Duos Freebird Telescopic Poles Red"
The Black Crows Duos Freebird is a two-piece telescoping ski touring pole: the upper section is made of 7075 aluminum (18 mm), the lower section is made of composite (16 mm), and it is adjustable from 110 to 140 cm via the Powerlock 3.0 clamp. The 38-cm-long EVA grip allows for a change of grip during traverses; the ergonomic strap fits comfortably; and the flexible 90-mm basket adapts to the terrain. 245 g per pole, carbide tip, color: Red.
Black Crows Duos Freebird: lightweight telescoping pole for ski touring
Two segments instead of three means fewer locks, less play, and more stiffness during the ascent. The Duos Freebird is the touring pole for anyone who doesn’t need to stow the pole in their backpack but simply wants to adjust it between the ascent and descent. The aluminum Powerlock 3.0 opens even when wearing gloves and holds firm under load; the extra-long grip lets you grip lower on the slope without changing the length, and the carbide tip bites into rock and ice. Weighing 245 g per pole, it’s among the lightest aluminum poles, and the composite lower shaft absorbs impacts on hard surfaces.

How do I adjust the length?
Open the Powerlock, pull the pole, close the lever. Uphill: Forearm horizontal with the pole vertical. Downhill: About 5 cm shorter.
Two-piece or three-piece?
The two-piece design is stiffer and lighter; the three-piece design packs down shorter. For tours where you always keep the pole in your hand, the Duos is the better choice.
Are the baskets interchangeable?
Yes, the 90-mm baskets can be removed and replaced with replacement baskets, which we carry separately.
Does the lock hold up under load?
Yes, the Powerlock 3.0 is an external clamp closure that does not slip and can be readjusted as needed.
