Sidas Shin Protector Evo: Gel protection against pressure and friction in ski boots
Ski boots exert a lot of pressure on the shin when you lean forward, and anyone with a narrow shaft or a bony lower leg will feel this after just a few hours. The gel in the Shin Protector Evo acts as a cushioning layer between the leg and the tongue, distributing pressure peaks and reducing direct friction. Its anatomical shape conforms to the shin and stays in place under the sock, even during intense skiing. Compared to the first generation, the Evo is manufactured in Europe, contains no dyes, features rounded edges, and offers better cushioning. It is reusable and hand-washable.

Uses
For skiers with pressure points or shin pain, those with new, stiff, or tight-fitting boots, racers with a pronounced forward lean, and ski instructors who spend all day in their boots. Also recommended as a complement to the Sidas Ski Protect V2 sock with built-in shin protection.
Application
Place the pad on your dry shin, with the thicker center against the edge of your shin, then pull your ski sock over it. After a day of skiing, rinse with lukewarm water, let it dry, and store it in its packaging.
Does the pad add bulk inside the ski boot?
Hardly. At 2.5 to 4 mm, it’s thinner than many sock pads and doesn’t compromise the shoe’s support.
Does the pad stay in place without fasteners?
Yes, the gel adheres lightly to the skin, and the sock on top keeps it in place. If you have very hairy legs, it helps to pull the sock up tightly.
How long does the pad last?
With normal care, it will last several seasons. Rinse and dry after use; do not store in direct sunlight or on a heater.
Does the pad also help with existing pressure points?
It relieves pressure on the affected area, thereby accelerating healing, but it is no substitute for a shoe fitting if the shoe simply doesn’t fit properly. Come to our workshop for a fitting.
