Scott Shield LS Black/Fog Grey: photochromic lens covering S1 through S3
"Light Sensitive" means " Scott: " The lens reacts to UV radiation, darkening in sunlight and lightening in cloudy conditions or snowfall. This ensures consistent vision throughout the day without needing a second lens. Amplifier technology further enhances contrast, ensuring that moguls and ice patches remain visible in flat light. The Cinnamon Chrome mirror coating is a warm tint that works especially well under overcast skies. The semi-frameless construction provides a wide field of view, the NoFog coating keeps the lens clear on the inside, and the three-layer face foam seals tightly without causing pressure. Lens size 171 x 93 mm, weight approximately 121 g, fit medium to large, PPE Category I according to EN ISO 18527-1:2022.

Uses
For skiers and snowboarders who want to get through the entire winter wearing these goggles—from foggy days to spring sunshine. The goggles fit medium to large faces and all standard ski helmets.
Care
Wipe the lens dry only with the microfiber pouch; never use paper or a glove. Do not rub the inside—the NoFog coating is sensitive. Allow the goggles to dry open after a day of skiing.
How quickly does the lens react?
Within seconds to a few minutes, depending on the temperature. In cold weather, it takes slightly longer for the lens to lighten than to darken.
Is S1 through S3 sufficient for the sun on a glacier?
Yes, for normal sunny days. In extreme sunlight on a glacier in the spring, an S4 lens is darker, so the React with interchangeable lenses is the better choice.
Does it come with a replacement lens?
No, the Shield LS doesn’t need one. The photochromic lens covers the S1 through S3 ranges on its own.
What does “Amplifier” mean?
Scott ’s Amplifier Contrast Technology: The lens filters out certain light wavelengths to make unevenness in the snow more clearly visible.
Do they fit over prescription glasses?
The Shield is not designed as an OTG goggle. For eyeglass wearers, we recommend a model with an OTG cutout.
