Product Information "Ortovox Focus Voice Avalanche Transceiver Safety Blue"
The Ortovox Focus Voice is the avalanche transceiver that tells you what to do during a search for a buried victim: The patented voice navigation guides you through signal search, coarse search, and fine search with spoken instructions, in German or nine other languages. Three antennas with Smart Antenna Technology, an 80-meter search strip width, a large 2.7-inch display, and a lithium-ion battery that you charge via USB-C. Compact, weighing just 185 grams, and available in Safety Blue.
Ortovox Focus Voice: Avalanche transceiver with voice navigation for ski touring and freeriding
In an avalanche situation, every second counts—and that’s exactly when what you learned in class often fails you. The Focus Voice takes the thinking out of the process for you. As soon as you switch to search mode, the device tells you whether you’re in signal search mode, which direction to head in, when to slow down, and when it’s time to unpack your probe. In addition, the large full-graphics display shows direction and distance, and during the fine-tuning phase, visual and audible cues—including a 180-degree correction—help if you happen to walk past the buried person.
Smart Antenna Technology analyzes the device’s position and automatically transmits via the antenna with the best signal. In transmit mode, this increases the search range for rescuers. If a second Ortovox device with Smart Antenna is searching, the search strip width increases from 80 to 90 meters. Interference protection adapts to electronic interference sources such as cell phones or radios, in both transmit and search modes. If there are multiple buried victims, you mark the people you’ve found, and the device guides you to the next signal; up to four buried victims are displayed. If a secondary avalanche is triggered, the device automatically switches from search mode back to transmit mode.

Do I need batteries?
No, the Focus Voice has a built-in lithium-ion battery that you charge via USB-C. It works down to -20 degrees.
Does the device work with avalanche transceivers from other brands?
Yes, all avalanche transceivers transmit on the standard frequency of 457 kHz and are compatible with one another. You can only achieve the 90-meter search strip width with a Ortovox partner device equipped with a Smart Antenna.
Can I change the language?
Yes, in the settings or via the Ortovox app. Available languages include German, English, French, and Italian.
How do I practice using the device?
The Ortovox app has a training mode. However, the best way to learn how to use it is in an avalanche course that includes real-life searches in the snow.
