The AVALANCHE RESCUE SET ZOOM+ offers beginners an economical way to escape the hustle and bustle of the slopes and get their first taste of the backcountry. When selecting the components, we chose particularly intuitive products that can be easily mastered even in stressful situations. The accompanying SAFETY ACADEMY GUIDE BOOK explains the basic rules of conduct and provides plenty of background knowledge on the complex subject of avalanches so that avalanche transceivers, probes and shovels don't even have to be used.
ZOOM+
The ZOOM+ combines the simplest handling with the latest technology and the most advanced design. Reduced to two function buttons, the ZOOM+ focuses on intuitive operation. An on/off switch and a switch between transmit and search keep the focus on the clear LED display. Distance information, direction arrows and the indication of several buried victims lead the user quickly to the pinpointing area, where the intuitive search acoustics make locating easier. Equipped with the patented SMART ANTENNA TECHNOLOGY, the ZOOM+ is significantly better at finding buried victims. The device analyzes the situation in the avalanche and automatically switches to the best transmitting antenna. State-of-the-art, digital 3-antenna technology is just as much a matter of course at Ortovox as automatic avalanche switching.
BADGAR
The BADGAR is a super-light aluminum shovel with an ergonomic hybrid handle for maximum power transmission! At 2.5 liters, it has a decent blade volume, which can unfold its full rigidity thanks to the stiff construction with a pronounced center bar and raised sidewalls. Step grooves on the upper edge of the blade provide the necessary grip when using shoes, while a centering aid in the handle holder enables quick assembly.
240 ECONOMIC
The entry-level probe with very low weight. At 240 cm in length, the Economic weighs just 230 g. This is achieved by using aluminum with a tube diameter of 11 mm. The probe is tensioned in the classic way with a screw cap into which the Kevlar cord is clamped. The burial depth can be read off the probe segments.
