In slalom, every tenth of a second counts. That’s why the Venom SL TR features a slim, cylindrical design consisting of two segments: 16 mm HTS 6.5 aluminum in the upper section and 14 mm PRC 1000 aramid carbon in the lower section. This combination of materials withstands the impact of the gate poles while remaining light enough that the pole doesn’t slow you down when changing direction. At 311 g per pole, it falls within the range of classic racing poles. The fixed length without an adjustment mechanism saves weight and ensures nothing wobbles.

Trigger 3D SL Grip and Strap System
The Trigger 3D SL connects your glove or strap directly to the pole. Clicking it in takes a split second, and in the event of a fall, the connection releases automatically within the release zone instead of yanking on your arm. The finger grooves in the grip give your hand a secure position, so you can make a clean pole plant even when the rhythm gets tight. Baskets, Tips, and Care
The Racing Trekking basket is a compact, universal basket. It prevents the pole from sinking into the snow and can be replaced without tools once it wears out after a few seasons. The Flex Tip provides grip even on hard ice. After a day on the slopes, it’s a good idea to wipe the poles dry and let the straps air out—this significantly extends the life of the grip and strap.
What pole length do I need?
Stand upright in your ski boots and turn the pole around so that you’re gripping it below the basket. Your forearm should be horizontal, with your elbow at about a right angle. If this feels right, the length is correct. Race skiers often use poles that are one size shorter in slalom than for recreational use. The Venom SL TR is available from 110 to 135 cm in 5-cm increments.
Is the pole also useful outside of racing?
Yes. It’s designed for slalom, but it works just as well on groomed slopes if you’re skiing aggressively and prefer a stiff, responsive pole. It’s less suitable for deep snow due to the small basket.
What happens to the Trigger System in the event of a fall?
The connection between the glove or strap and the grip releases as soon as the pull comes from a certain angle range. This prevents you from getting caught on the pole. You can release and re-click it without tools.
Do I need special gloves?
No. You can use the included strap with any glove. With a Trigger glove, you click it right onto the glove—it’s even faster and fits more securely.
Can the length be adjusted later?
No, the Venom SL TR is a fixed-length pole with no adjustment. A specialist shop can shorten the pole, but doing so will result in the loss of the carbon reinforcement in the lower section. It’s better to choose the right length from the start.
