Product Information "POC Arcus Ski Helmet Uranium Black Matte"
POC ’s Arcus is the new freeride ski helmet with racing DNA: a hybrid shell made of ABS and in-mold polycarbonate, the MIPS Air Node system to counter rotational forces, the BOA fit system for an even, pressure-point-free fit, and ventilation that you can adjust in three stages using a magnetic slider—even while wearing gloves. It also features a Fidlock magnetic closure, goggle channels, and extended neck protection. Weighs 500 to 600 g depending on size, available in Uranium Black Matte, sizes XS-S through XL-XXL.
POC Arcus: Freeride ski helmet with MIPS Air Node and BOA fit system
POC POC derived the Arcus from its racing helmets and adapted it for all-mountain, freeride, and backcountry use. The ABS inner shell gives the helmet durability and a clean edge, while the polycarbonate in-mold outer shell keeps the weight down. Inside is the Mips Air Node, the lightest generation of Mips ever installed in a ski helmet: This low-friction system is integrated directly into the padding, dampens rotational forces during sideways falls, and allows for unobstructed ventilation. The deep air channels, inspired by cycling helmets, direct air over the head; two large openings at the top are protected from snow by foam inserts, and the central channel can be opened or closed in three stages using the magnetic slider. The BOA fit system distributes the adjustment evenly around the head and replaces the classic dial; the Semi-Radiant ear pads snap securely into the shell; the Fidlock HOOK 20 closure is derived from racing helmets and can be fastened with one hand. The neck contour, inspired by hockey helmets, extends protection downward.

Uses
For skiers who want to ski fast on the slopes and stay safe off-piste: freeride, all-mountain, ski touring, and backcountry—anywhere where weight and ventilation matter, and the helmet stays securely on your head even during the ascent. The Arcus is designed to work with POC ski goggles, but it’s compatible with most other brands as well.
Size Guide
Measure your head circumference just above your eyebrows: XS-S fits 51 to 54 cm, M-L fits 55 to 58 cm, XL-XXL fits 59 to 62 cm. The helmet should fit snugly without pressing, and it shouldn’t wobble when you shake your head. You can make fine adjustments using the BOA dial at the back of the head—even while wearing gloves.
What size do I need?
Measuring head circumference: XS–S 51 to 54 cm, M–L 55 to 58 cm, XL–XXL 59 to 62 cm. If you’re right on the border between sizes, choose the smaller size and use the BOA system.
What is MIPS Air Node?
MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. Air Node is the lightest and newest version: a low-friction layer integrated into the padding that reduces rotational forces on the head during oblique impacts without blocking ventilation.
How does the ventilation work?
A central vent can be opened or closed in three stages using a magnetic slider—even while wearing gloves. In addition, there are fixed vents at the front, sides, and back, as well as two large vents at the top that are protected from snow by foam inserts.
What are the benefits of the BOA system in a ski helmet?
Instead of a dial that only tightens at the back, BOA distributes the adjustment evenly around the head. This reduces pressure points and makes it more comfortable on long days. The Arcus is one of the first ski helmets to feature this system.
Is the helmet compatible with POC ski goggles?
Yes, the Arcus is designed to work with POC ski goggles, featuring goggle channels to prevent fogging. It’s also compatible with most other goggle brands.
