Phaenom These ski boots are made by Faction and are designed for anyone who transitions from the piste to the park and on into the backcountry without changing boots along the way. The brands specialize exclusively in freeski boots and consistently do one thing differently: the shell combines elements of both the Cabrio and Overlap construction methods. So you get the edge control of a classic overlap boot while still enjoying the soft, progressive flex typically found only in three-piece constructions.

Phaenom Ski Boots: Freeski Boots with Hybrid Shells

Added to this is the patented “ Phaenom ” strap. It works with the boot’s flex and returns energy instead of absorbing it. In turns, this feels like more feedback; on hard landings, it means less impact on the shin. Anyone who’s ever spent a day in the park wearing a stiff racing boot knows why this makes a difference.

Designed with sustainability in mind and repairable

Phaenom They design the boots so they can be taken apart. Buckles, straps, and the liner are individually replaceable, and the shell is recyclable at the end of its life. This isn’t a given in this product category: Most ski boots are glued-together units where a broken buckle lever renders the entire boot unusable. Here, the part can be reordered.

Which model is right for you?

The Phaenom fs 01 120 is the sturdier version. Flex 120, plenty of power on the edge, and a shock-absorbing sole for hard landings. The boot for anyone who skis fast and occasionally tackles bigger jumps.

The Phaenom fs 02 110 is the second generation and slightly more accessible. Flex 110, 100 mm last, thermoformable GridSkin liner. The “Corn Stalk” color is a warm yellow that no one on the mountain will overlook.

When choosing a flex, the general rule is: If you weigh less than 75 kilograms or spend a lot of time in the park, you’ll usually be better off with a 110. If you’re heavier or push hard on hard-packed slopes, go for the 120. If you’re unsure, give us a call—we’ll sort it out in five minutes.

Fit and Boot Fitting

Both models have a 100 mm last, which is a medium width that fits most feet. The liner is thermoformable and can be customized to fit your foot. If it still feels tight in one spot afterward, we’ll adjust it during a boot fitting in our own workshop. An insole provides additional support, especially for those with flat feet.
