Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks Ski Binding Graphite/Black

The Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks is the new generation of the freeride classic: With the X Series, Marker has integrated the brake into the heel plate and lowered the stand height from 24 to 14 mm; the Triple Pivot Elite X front jaw is a single-piece casting and is only 9 mm high. No Griffon has ever sat this low on the ski. DIN 4 to 13 for lighter and medium-weight skiers, Alpine and GripWalk soles, brake width 90 or 105 mm. Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks: Freeride binding with integrated X-Brake

Anyone familiar with the Griffon knows the feeling: direct power transfer, reliable release, and a binding that performs equally well in the park, on the piste, and in powder. The Griffon X retains all that while solving the one problem every freeride binding has had: its profile height. The X-Brake is no longer located beneath the heel mechanism but is now part of the heel plate, bringing the boot 10 mm closer to the ski. Less leverage, more edge feel, and faster response when changing edges. The Inter Pivot X heel mechanism features a shorter, sturdier metal frame, while the Triple Pivot Elite X toe piece is cast as a single piece, making it lighter and stiffer. The Anti Ice Rail, made from a new alloy, prevents ice from accumulating under the sole, while the stainless steel AFD glide plate ensures a precise release with both alpine and GripWalk soles. Technically, the Griffon X 13 is the little sister of the Jester X 16: same components, DIN range 4 to 13 instead of 6 to 16.

What is the brake width?

The brake must be wider than the center of the ski, but no more than 15 mm wider. A 90 mm brake fits skis with a center width of 75 to 89 mm, and a 105 mm brake fits skis with a center width of 90 to 104 mm.

Intended Use

Freeride, all-mountain, and freestyle for skiers weighing up to about 90 kg or anyone who needs a Z-value up to 13. Heavier or very aggressive skiers should choose the Jester X 16 with a DIN setting of 6 to 16.
