The Hestra Heater Gauntlet Mitt is the warmest solution for cold hands on the slopes: a heated mitten with a cuff, featuring heating elements at the fingertips and thumb, plus the added warmth of the fingers being together inside the mitten. It comes with three heat settings, replaceable 4000 mAh batteries, and a USB charger, plus water-repellent goatskin leather, Flextron Softshell, and the waterproof CZone membrane.

Hestra Heater Gauntlet Mitt: heated mitt with up to 10 hours of warmth

You control the heating via the “ Hestra ” logo on the back of the hand, without having to take off the glove. On the low setting, the batteries last about 10 hours; on the medium setting, 5 hours; and on the highest setting, about 2.5 hours. The batteries are stored in a pocket in the cuff and can be removed for charging or replacement.

Material and Construction

The palm is made of waterproof goatskin, while the back of the hand is made of Hestra Flextron Softshell with 4-way stretch. Inside, synthetic insulation and a microfleece lining provide warmth, while the CZone membrane keeps moisture out and allows sweat to escape. The long cuff extends over the jacket sleeve, the snow gaiter closes at the top, and there’s a Velcro fastener at the wrist. Handcuffs (wrist loops) are included.

Who is the Heater Gauntlet Mitt designed for?

For anyone for whom even good leather gloves aren’t warm enough: people with poor circulation, ski instructors and patrol officers who are outside all day, and anyone who doesn’t want to suffer anymore on the chairlift at minus 15 degrees. The mitten is warmer than the 5-finger model, though it offers slightly less dexterity; however, bindings and poles can still be operated without any problems.

Size Selection and Care

Hestra The gloves fit true to size. Measure the circumference of your hand (excluding the thumb) at the widest point: Size 6 corresponds to about 15 cm, 7 to about 18 cm, 8 to about 20 cm, 9 to about 23 cm, 10 to about 25 cm, and 11 to about 28 cm. Care for the leather with the Hestra Leather Balm; store the batteries in a dry place in the summer, keeping them half-charged.
