Product Information "Head Canting Kit Raptor/Formula"
With the Head Canting Kit Raptor/Formula, you can adjust the shell tilt (canting) on your Head Raptor or Formula ski boot. This kit is a standard tool in boot fitting and helps you precisely align the boot shell with your leg axis, rather than leaving it uncorrected. This allows you to distribute pressure and force more evenly across the edge while skiing.
Canting Kit for Head Raptor and Formula Ski Boots
A misaligned leg axis causes one ski to always tilt onto an edge first, even when you’re skiing properly. With the shims from this kit, a boot fitter can correct exactly that: They are mounted between the shell and the cuff, thereby adjusting the angle of the shaft until the shell is once again perpendicular to the ski edge.
Package Contents in Detail
- √ Canting shims to correct the shell’s tilt
- √ Matching screws and nuts for assembly
- √ Available in black or white
- √ Compatible with Head Raptor and Formula ski boots from model year 2021 onward
Installation and Applications
Installation should be handled by a boot fitter, as the correct angle depends on your individual leg alignment and must be checked in person. Ski-Shop.ch customers can have the kit installed directly by us.
Can I install the canting kit myself?
Technically, yes, but it’s not recommended. The appropriate correction angle is determined through a stance analysis, which an experienced boot fitter can do much more reliably.
Does the kit also fit older Head Raptor models?
This kit is designed for Head Raptor and Formula models from 2021 onward. For models up to 2020, we carry a separate, compatible version.
Which color should I choose?
Choose black or white based on the shell color of your ski boot so that the shims aren’t noticeable.
What is canting used for anyway?
Canting compensates for a misaligned leg axis so that the ski edge grips evenly while skiing and you aren’t overloaded on one side.
