Product Information "Flaxta Behold 2 Junior Back Protector Vest for Kids, Black"
The Flaxta Behold 2 Junior is the back protector vest for kids that they’ll actually wear: flat, lightweight, flexible, and so well-ventilated that it doesn’t get in the way under a ski jacket. The new AVA back plate with high absorption protects the spine; the vest moves with the body, and the adjustable elastic waist strap grows with the child. Certified to EN 1621-2 Level 1, available in two sizes: S (S-M) and M (M-L), color: Black.
Flaxta Behold 2 Junior: Back protector vest with AVA protection system for skiing and snowboarding
The safest back protector is the one you actually wear. That’s exactly what Flaxta had in mind when designing the Behold: Instead of a hard shell, the back of the vest features the AVA plate—short for Absorb, Vent, and Adapt. It consists of vertically oriented, cylindrical absorption cells that progressively yield upon impact and disperse the energy, while remaining lightweight, flexible, and breathable. The vest adapts to the body’s shape while riding, bending over, and sitting in the lift, without causing any pressure points. The Behold 2.0 builds on this concept, featuring a new plate with higher absorption, lighter and more breathable materials, and a redesigned cut. The elastic waist strap is removable: if you want the vest to fit snugly against your body, leave it on; if you want more freedom of movement, take it off.

Intended Use
For skiing and snowboarding on the slopes, in the park, and off-piste—from ski lessons to freeride days. The vest is worn directly over a technical shirt and under a midlayer or jacket. You can find more models in the back protectors section.
What size fits my child?
Size S (S-M) for children up to about 130 cm, size M (M-L) for about 130 to 150 cm. The plate should extend from the neck to just above the tailbone and should not touch the waistband of your pants when sitting. For taller children and teens 150 cm and up, there’s the Behold 2 Youth.
What is the protector’s protection class?
The back plate is certified to EN 1621-2 Level 1, the standard for back protectors in motorcycling and winter sports.
Can I wear the vest under my ski jacket?
Yes, that’s what it’s designed for. The vest is flat and flexible and adds hardly any bulk under a jacket. It fits best when worn directly over a performance shirt.
How do I wash the vest?
Remove the back plate, wash the vest by hand or on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees, and air-dry. Wipe the plate with a damp cloth.
How long does a back protector last?
After a hard fall where the plate took the impact, the protector should be replaced, even if there is no visible damage. Without a fall, it will last for many seasons.
