Product Information "Fischer XC Performance Cross-Country Skis White"
The Fischer XC Performance is the no-fuss cross-country ski pole for the trail and for off-trail runs. An aluminum shaft instead of carbon means it can handle a fall, a stuck basket, or being crammed into a full trunk—and it costs a fraction of what a racing pole does. This model comes in white.
Fischer XC Performance Cross-Country Ski Pole in White
The tapered shaft, made of 6061 aluminum, tapers from 16 to 9 millimeters. This provides stiffness where you apply pressure when pushing off and keeps the weight down. The 160-cm pair weighs about 460 grams; the shorter lengths weigh correspondingly less.
Features in Detail
- √ Tapered shaft made of 6061 aluminum, 16 to 9 mm
- √ TPR grip, provides a secure grip even with wet gloves
- √ Pre-shaped Loop 30 wrist strap
- √ Race Lite Aero basket with a diameter of approximately 6 cm
- √ Steel tip for a secure grip on hard trails and ice
- √ Color: White
Which length is right for you?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply it by 0.89. As a rule of thumb for classic style: When standing, the pole should reach roughly to your armpit.
- √ 140 cm is typically suitable for runners who are around 166 to 171 cm tall
- √ 145 cm is typically suitable for people who are around 172 to 177 cm tall
- √ For skating, add about 10 cm to your height
If you need a different length, let us know and we’ll order them for you. We also carry the same pole in a black design in 125 and 135 cm lengths.
Who the XC Performance is right for
For beginners, for a second pair at the vacation home, and for anyone who hits the cross-country trails a few times in the winter and doesn’t need racing poles. If you’re training or racing, you’re better off with carbon poles, because every gram and the stiffness matter.
Care
Dry them off after use, especially the tip. The baskets and straps can be replaced individually when worn out—it’s definitely worth it with this pole.
What exact length do I need?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply by 0.89. At 1.70 m, that’s 140 cm for classic and about 152 cm for skating. If you’re between two lengths, choose the shorter one for classic and the longer one for skating.
What’s the difference from the black version?
Only the color and available lengths differ. The shaft, grip, strap, and basket are identical. We carry black in 125 and 135 cm, and white in 140 and 145 cm.
Is the pole also suitable for skating?
Technically, yes—the design accommodates both styles. The key factor is length: For skating, you’ll need about 10 cm more than for classic style.
Why aluminum and not carbon?
Carbon is lighter and stiffer, but it can break if you fall or if another runner steps on it. Aluminum bends rather than breaks and is significantly cheaper. For occasional runs, that’s the better deal.
Do the poles come as a pair?
Yes, the price is for a pair, meaning two poles.
