The Blacklight 88 has a 100% UD carbon topsheet. UD is the abbreviation for the unidirectional arrangement of the carbon fibers and, compared to the classic carbon construction, has a higher tensile strength and greater resilience with a lower density. Furthermore, the Blacklight 88 is equipped with a 100% Paulownia wood core and thanks to its 3D construction, the ski reduces its overall weight in order to reduce the ski's centrifugal mass in front of and behind the binding area.
