The new Dynafit Blacklight 88 weighs just 1060 g (165 cm) with a center width of 88 mm. The name Blacklight is made up of the color black, which also stands for 100% carbon, and the suffix Light for a very light ski with a luminous character. The Blacklight 88 is DYNAFIT's lightest all-round ski and meets the needs of ambitious, fast ski tourers who are looking for a light, handy touring ski for any terrain and any snow conditions. The Blacklight 88 has a 100% UD carbon topsheet. UD is the abbreviation for the unidirectional arrangement of the carbon fibers and, compared to the classic carbon construction, has a higher tensile strength and greater resilience with a lower density. Furthermore, the Blacklight 88 is equipped with a 100% Paulownia wood core and thanks to its 3D construction, the ski reduces its overall weight in order to reduce the ski's centrifugal mass in front of and behind the binding area. This ensures extremely stable skiing characteristics despite its light weight. The rocker construction at the tip and tail and the sidecut - which is unique on the ski touring market - are adapted to the respective ski length. This means that the effective edge length remains proportionally the same for all lengths and works independently of the ski length. To ensure the best possible power transmission from the skier to the ski, the ski is designed with a full ABS sidewall.
