kommit – biking together, even if you don’t have the stamina yet
The kommit pull system helps children ride their mountain bikes uphill without Mom or Dad having to stop their own ride. The elastic cord attaches to the seat post of the adult’s bike and tightens automatically as soon as the child needs assistance—without any jerking. This way, everyone can stay on the trail together, even if the little ones’ legs can’t yet carry them as far as the grown-ups’. At ski-shop.ch, you’ll find the complete kommit pull system, including accessories, ready to use for your next family ride.

Elastic pull cord
No jerking, no hassle—just hook it on and ride off
The kommit system consists of a compact, round housing with an elastic pull cord that attaches via a carabiner to the seat tube of the child’s bike and to the seatpost of the adult’s bike. As soon as the child slows down or encounters an incline, the cord automatically tightens and applies a gentle pull—without any sudden jerks that could throw the child off balance. When the child starts pedaling again on their own, the cord simply stays loose and doesn’t interfere with pedaling or steering. After the ride, the entire system can be removed in a flash and stowed in the small bag provided, so it fits in any backpack or jersey pocket.
The centerpiece is the kommit – your tension system for more riding fun, the starter kit for getting started. If you want additional mounting hardware for a second bike, you’ll find it in the Bike Mount Bundle. A complete overview of all items is available on the kommit brand page at ski-shop.ch.
For the whole family
Weighs just 138 grams, with a tensile strength of up to 90 kg
Despite its compact size, the kommit rope can withstand a tensile force of up to 90 kg, making it suitable even for heavier bikes or e-bike trailers. Weighing about 138 grams, it’s barely noticeable in a backpack or on the seatpost, so you can easily take it along on any ride without adding any noticeable extra weight. The material is weather-resistant and was developed for the rigors of everyday trail riding, ensuring it works reliably even in wet or muddy conditions. The system is suitable for nearly any bike with a seatpost—from classic mountain bikes to e-bikes and city bikes.
In addition to the pull system, it’s usually a good idea to have a second carabiner as a spare or for another bike—available as the “kommit ” Orange Carabiner. This allows you to quickly switch the system between multiple bikes when different children take turns riding. You’ll find all compatible replacement parts and accessories listed on the kommit brand page.
Ages 3 and up
From your first forest trail to a challenging trail tour
kommit Suitable for children who can already steer and brake on their own—usually starting around age three—and accompanies them for many years on increasingly challenging rides. Especially on uphills where the children’s own strength isn’t yet sufficient, the system prevents the ride from having to be cut short or a parent from having to dismount and push. The system is also a practical addition for family e-bike outings, as it allows adults and children to match their different paces without anyone having to wait constantly. This keeps the focus on the shared experience on the trail, rather than on whether there’s enough energy left for the next climb.
For families who often go out together, we recommend the complete set consisting of “kommit —Your Towing System for More Riding Fun” and the matching Bike Mount Bundle for a second bike. You can find additional bike accessories for family outings in the bike accessories category at ski-shop.ch.
