Union ’s Falcor is Travis Rice’s binding: built for big-mountain lines in Alaska and just as suited for full-throttle laps at the resort. Lightweight, responsive, and durable, featuring Italian-made forged carbon in the highback and the new Halo baseplate. The 2026/27 version in black with gold accents.
Union Falcor: Forged Carbon Highback and Halo Baseplate
At the heart of the design is the asymmetrical Forged Hybrid 3.0 highback. A stiff forged carbon back provides instant edge control, while the Duraflex Blue frame allows enough lateral flex for tweaks and comfort. The shape follows the natural angle of the lower leg and is 10 percent lighter than its predecessor. The S12 Halo baseplate with a Duraflex Blue core features a two-layer construction, complemented by asymmetrical Molecular bushings that isolate the board from vibrations and allow for a slight inward cant. New to the Hybrid 3.0 Ankle Strap is the Hinge Connector: the strap folds out to the side, letting you step in and out faster. Magnesium S1 ratchets with a protected spring, a TS 6.0 dual-layer toe strap with UltraGrip rubber, and a non-stick EVA footbed round out the setup.

Intended Use
Freeride and performance are the Falcor’s strengths; it also handles all-mountain riding with ease. Steep terrain, high speeds, big jumps: the harder you ride, the better it performs. It’s too direct for pure park riding with lots of buttering.
Sizes
M fits boots EU 41 to 43 (US 8 to 10), L fits EU 43.5 to 46 (US 10.5 to 13). For borderline sizes, check the outsole: If the boot sits centered on the baseplate without protruding significantly at the front or back, it’s a good fit.
What’s new about the Falcor 2026/27?
The Forged Hybrid 3.0 highback is lighter and asymmetrically shaped; the baseplate is now called Halo with a Duraflex Blue Core; and the ankle strap features the new fold-away hinge connector. The ratchets have been upgraded to Magnesium S1.
Will the Falcor fit my board?
Yes. The disks for 4x4 and 2x4 inserts, as well as for the Burton Channel System, are included.
How stiff is the binding?
Union It scores 7 out of 10. The carbon back responds instantly, but laterally, the highback remains slightly softer than on a pure carbon binding like the Atlas Pro.
What does “Forged Carbon” mean?
Short carbon fibers are pressed into a mold under pressure instead of being laminated as a fabric. The part is stiff and lightweight, yet can be manufactured in complex shapes. Union produces it in Italy.
What warranty does Union offer?
Lifetime warranty on the baseplate and heel cup; one-year warranty on the highback, straps, and ratchets. Replacement parts such as highbacks or straps are available individually.
