GripWalk ist ein neuer Standard für die Absätze von Alpinskischuhen und für die Bindungen, in die sie reinpassen sollen. Auf diesen neuen Standard haben sich inzwischen so gut wie alle großen Hersteller geeinigt. Im Unterschied zu klassischen Skischuh-Sohlen sind die GripWalk-Sohlen im vorderen Bereich leicht nach oben gezogen, haben aber nach wie vor einen vorgelagerten Backen. Außerdem sind die GripWalk-Sohlen, ähnlich wie bei einem Tourenschuh, vorne wie hinten mit einem stark gerippten Gummiprofil ausgestattet, verfügen aber auch über einen harten Teil, der in direktem Kontakt mit der Bindung steht.
