The Karakoram Prime Nomad + Split Interface Women is brand new for the 2021 season. It replaces the Prime SL and is a whopping 50g lighter. Among the Karakoram splitboard bindings, the Nomad is the binding with the softest flex and is suitable for every splitboard adventure from after-work laps to expeditions. Highback The stiff Reactive Highback offers an optimized ratio between stiffness and weight. Precise control is guaranteed. The Prime Nomad has the Dual Ride-Stride Forward Lean so that you can also enjoy the full benefits of Karakoram technology when splitboarding. This allows you to adjust the highback from walk to ride mode in a matter of seconds. Baseplate The Nomad comes with the familiar X-Type chassis, which allows the board to flex naturally. The Active Joining Technology with extra wide contact points ensures unsurpassed response. The Power Link, a lever mechanism located under the heel, makes it super easy to switch the binding from tour mode to ride mode and back. Because the lever is ergonomically adapted to the binding, you only need a simple hand movement to release the binding from the touring brackets and reinsert it. A small lever also activates the Heel Lock. Straps The AirPod Ankle Straps focus on the essentials. Without bling-bling, the focus of these straps is on comfort and support with low weight. This unique three-dimensionally shaped baseplate runs under the foot for unparalleled response. The reactive highback is made entirely of plastic, making it slightly more versatile than a full carbon highback. PERFORMANCE The Karakoram Prime X is designed with the special Prime X baseplate. In contrast to the normal Prime baseplate, this baseplate runs along the contact points under the binding. The frame is therefore curved at the contact points, which means that 4 points are in direct contact with the board. This ensures extremely direct transmission and maximum control. The baseplate is made of High Strength Alloy aluminum and stainless steel. All Karakoram bindings are now designed with an open chassis: Functionless material is milled away. This not only saves weight, but also ensures a more natural flex under the binding. The Reactive Highback is made from shrink-free Dupont Zytel. COMFORT These straps have the best weight/performance ratio in the Karakoram collection. The straps are made entirely of plastic and in one piece. The cut-outs ensure a better fit and lower weight.
