The reactive highback is made entirely of plastic, making it slightly more versatile than a full carbon highback. PERFORMANCE The Karakoram Prime X is designed with the special Prime X baseplate. In contrast to the normal Prime baseplate, this baseplate runs along the contact points under the binding. The frame is therefore curved at the contact points, which means that 4 points are in direct contact with the board. This ensures extremely direct transmission and maximum control. The baseplate is made of High Strength Alloy aluminum and stainless steel. All Karakoram bindings today are designed with an open chassis: Functionless material is milled away.
