This makes it just as suitable for the golf course as it is for hiking or as a midlayer under a ski jacket. The quilted front and upper back are filled with PrimaLoft. This synthetic insulation is lightweight, stays warm even when wet, and dries quickly. The sleeves, hood, and lower back are made of double-layer jersey with a high elastane content, which moves with every swing without feeling tight. Is the Holden Quilt Hybrid Hood waterproof? No. The outer fabric is water-repellent and keeps out light drizzle and splashes. For prolonged or heavier rain, you’ll need a waterproof jacket over it. How warm is the PrimaLoft insulation? The insulation is intentionally kept light and is suitable for temperatures ranging from around freezing to about 10 degrees, depending on activity and mid-layers. As a midlayer under a ski jacket, it also works well in significantly colder temperatures. Can I wear the jacket under a ski jacket? Yes. Thanks to the flat quilting and stretch sleeves, it’s not bulky at all and works well as a mid-layer. Make sure the ski jacket has enough room for the hood, or wear it with the hood folded down. Is the hood removable? No, the hood is attached. It is quilted at the top and fastens with a two-way zipper all the way up to the chin. How does the jacket run in size?
