Which skis is the 105 brake designed for? The stopper covers a waist width of 95 to 105 mm, which is the typical width of current freeride and park skis. On a narrower ski, the stopper will stick out visibly and hit the edge more quickly; for skis wider than 105 mm, you’ll need the 115 version. Measure the waist directly below the binding to be sure. Is the Super Green technically the same binding as the standard Pivot 2.0 15? Yes. Same release range, same mechanism, same stopper. The only difference is the design of the limited edition series. Do I need a Z-value up to 15? The value is determined by your height, weight, boot sole length, age, and skiing style. The 15 is worth it if your calculated value is above 13. Below that, you’re better off with the 13 version because it then operates in the middle spring range rather than the lowest one. Do these bindings work with GripWalk boots? Yes, both GripWalk and the classic alpine sole per ISO 5355 are approved. The boot just needs to be properly adjusted because the sole heights differ between the two standards. Just how limited is this series, really? Rossignol is releasing the Super Project as a limited-edition capsule collection for one season. The manufacturer hasn’t disclosed the production run, but it won’t be reissued. If you like the design, waiting isn’t a good idea. Who mounts and adjusts the bindings? This should be done at a shop. A drilling template, correct sole length adjustment, and a verified release test are mandatory; otherwise, the Z-value won’t be correct in an emergency. If your ski is narrower, the stopper won’t get stuck in deep snow, but it will protrude visibly and will be struck more easily on the edge. For skis wider than 105 mm, you’ll need the 115 version. Why freeskiers stick with Pivot The key factor is the holding force during hard landings. A classic heel piece only presses against the boot from behind, whereas the Turntable heel piece wraps around it. Combined with the large amount of elastic travel, this means the binding absorbs impacts instead of releasing immediately, yet still releases cleanly when the force is directed in the wrong direction. It is precisely this combination that is crucial for jumps. What sets the Alex Hall Edition apart from the standard Pivot 2.0 15? Technically, nothing. It’s the same binding with the same release range and the same mechanism, just in a color design by Alex Hall. If you don’t like the look, it performs exactly the same as the standard model.
