Product Information "Fischer XC Performance Cross-Country Poles Black –"
The Fischer XC Performance is the no-fuss cross-country ski pole for the trail and for off-trail runs. An aluminum shaft instead of carbon means it’s forgiving in the event of a fall, a jammed basket, or transport in a packed trunk—and it costs a fraction of the price of a racing pole.
Fischer XC Performance Cross-Country Ski Pole for Trails and Off-Trail Terrain
The tapered shaft, made of 6061 aluminum, tapers from 16 to 9 millimeters. This provides stiffness where you apply pressure when pushing off and keeps the weight down. The 160-cm pair weighs about 460 grams; the 135-cm pair weighs correspondingly less.

Which length is right for you?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply by 0.89. As a rule of thumb for classic style: When standing, the pole should reach roughly to your armpit. This pole is 135 cm long and is therefore intended for a height of about 160 to 165 cm when skiing classic style. For the same height, skaters need a pole that’s about 145 cm long.
This length is also a good choice for older children and teenagers. If you need a different length, let us know and we’ll order it for you.
Who the XC Performance is right for
For beginners, for a second pair at the vacation home, and for anyone who hits the cross-country trails a few times in the winter and doesn’t need racing poles. If you’re training or racing, you’re better off with carbon poles, because every gram and the stiffness matter.
Care
Dry them off after use, especially the tip. The baskets and straps can be replaced individually when worn out—it’s definitely worth it with this pole.
What exact length do I need?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply by 0.89. For someone who is 1.62 m tall, that’s 135 cm for classic and about 145 cm for skating. If you’re between two lengths, choose the shorter one for classic style and the longer one for skating.
Is the pole also suitable for skating?
Technically, yes—the design accommodates both styles. The key factor is length: For skating, you’ll need about 10 cm more than for classic-style skiing. At 135 cm, skating is only practical if you’re around 1.50 m tall.
Why aluminum and not carbon?
Carbon is lighter and stiffer, but it can break if you fall or if another runner steps on it. Aluminum bends rather than breaks and is significantly cheaper. For occasional runs, that’s the better deal.
Are the baskets and straps replaceable?
Yes, both are wear parts and available separately. Please contact us if you need replacements.
Do the poles come as a pair?
Yes, the price is for a pair, meaning two poles.
