The Fischer XC Cruiser is the cross-country ski pole for anyone who hits the trails regularly in winter and values a comfortable grip. Natural cork instead of plastic, plus a wide strap that doesn’t dig in even after two hours.
Fischer XC Cruiser Cross-Country Ski Pole with Cork Grip
The tapered 6061 aluminum shaft tapers toward the bottom, providing stiffness exactly where you build up pressure when pushing off. The pair weighs about 465 grams. The cork on the grip absorbs moisture and remains grippy even when you’re out without gloves or your hands are sweaty.

Which length is right for you?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply by 0.89. As a rule of thumb for classic style: When standing, the pole should reach roughly to your armpit. This pole is 150 cm long and is therefore designed for a height of approximately 178 to 183 cm in classic style. For skating, someone of the same height would need a pole about 160 cm long.

Cork or plastic
You’ll notice the difference after the first hour. Cork stays warm, absorbs sweat, and doesn’t slip when your gloves get damp. A TPR grip is easier to maintain and more affordable, but feels harder in the cold. If you only go cross-country skiing a few times a winter, plastic will do just fine; if you hit the trails regularly, you’ll notice the difference with cork.
Care
Dry them off after use, especially the tip. Wipe the cork handle only with a damp cloth—do not use solvents. The baskets and straps are wear parts and are available separately.
What exact length do I need?
For classic style, multiply your height by 0.83; for skating, multiply by 0.89. For someone who is 1.80 m tall, that’s 150 cm for classic and about 160 cm for skating. If you fall between two lengths, choose the shorter one for classic style and the longer one for skating.
What’s the difference between these and the XC Performance model?
Same aluminum shaft, different grip options. The Cruiser has the cork grip and the wider Comfort strap, while the Performance has a TPR grip and the narrower Loop 30. For long runs, the Cruiser is the more comfortable choice.
Is the pole also suitable for skating?
Technically, yes. The key factor is the length: For skating, you’ll need about 10 cm more than for classic-style skiing.
How do I care for the cork grip?
Wipe them down with a damp cloth and let them air dry—that’s all it takes. Cork darkens over time; this is normal and does not affect its function.
