Product Information "Scott Pro Taper SRS Ski Pole Black"
The Scott Pro Taper SRS is the all-mountain ski pole with a safety strap: a tapered shaft made of carbon-fiber-glass composite that dampens vibrations and flexes under load instead of breaking, plus the Safety Release System, which releases the strap from the grip in the event of a fall or if it gets caught on a lift. Notch 2.0 grip, Alpine Pro baskets, carbide tip, approximately 210 g per pole. Available in black, lengths 115 to 130 cm.
Scott Pro Taper SRS: Carbon-fiber ski pole with safety strap
“Pro Taper” refers to the tapered shaft, which has a 16 mm diameter at the grip and tapers down toward the tip. This saves weight where it’s not needed and allows the pole to swing smoothly when planting it. The blend of carbon and fiberglass absorbs impacts on hard slopes better than aluminum and withstands a fall without bending. The SRS (Safety Release System) is a strap with a predetermined breaking point in the grip: if the pole gets caught, the strap releases before your arm or thumb is injured. Simply click it back into place to reattach. The Notch 2.0 grip is ergonomically shaped with a notch for the index finger; the 55-mm Alpine Pro basket is suitable for groomed slopes and light terrain, and the carbide tip provides grip on ice.

Uses
For the slopes and all-mountain skiing, designed for skiers who want a lightweight, shock-absorbing pole and value the safety strap. For pure freeriding in deep snow, larger baskets are available as accessories.
Length Options
Hold the pole upside down under the basket; your forearm should be horizontal. As a rule of thumb, multiply your height by 0.7: a height of 165 cm results in 115 cm, 172 cm equals 120 cm, 180 cm equals 125 cm, and 186 cm equals 130 cm. If you ski aggressively and deep, you’ll likely prefer the shorter length.
How does the SRS work?
The strap is attached to the grip with a predetermined breaking point. If subjected to strong tension—for example, if the pole gets caught in a lift or between branches—it detaches from the grip and can then be clicked back into place.
Carbon or aluminum?
The Pro Taper combines carbon and fiberglass. It’s lighter and more shock-absorbing than aluminum and won’t bend in a fall. Under extreme stress, a composite shaft can break where aluminum would only bend, but it offers a much more comfortable ride.
What length do I need?
Body height multiplied by 0.7, rounded to the nearest 5 cm. So for a height of 175 cm, that would be 120 or 125 cm, depending on your skiing style.
Are the poles sold in pairs?
Yes, the price is for a pair.
Can I change the baskets?
Yes, the Alpine Pro baskets are removable; Scott offers larger deep-snow baskets as accessories.
