The right ski boots are crucial for your skiing experience, your control, and your comfort on the slopes. They connect you directly with the ski – the better the fit, the more precise the power transmission. At ski-shop.ch you will find high-quality ski boots for women, men and children that are tailored to your needs – from beginners to experts.
Ski boots for every style and requirement
Not all ski boots are the same – depending on skiing style, foot shape, and requirements, models differ in fit, flex, and functions. While recreational skiers prefer comfortable boots with more room, sporty skiers prefer harder shells and a tight fit for maximum control. Tourers, on the other hand, need lightweight ski boots with a walking mechanism and grippy soles.
Important selection criteria when buying ski boots
- Flex value: Indicates how stiff a ski boot is. Low flex (60–90) for beginners, medium (100–120) for advanced skiers, high (130+) for experts.
- Last width: Refers to the foot width in the forefoot area. Narrow feet: 98 mm, standard: 100–102 mm, wide feet: from 104 mm.
- Liner: Many models feature thermoformable liners – they adapt exactly to your foot when heated.
- Sole type: Alpine (ISO 5355), GripWalk or Touring – important for binding compatibility.
- Size: Indicated in Mondopoint (foot length in cm). For example, 27.5 corresponds to a foot length of 27.5 cm.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about ski boots
Measure your foot length in centimeters – that is your Mondopoint size. Do not wear socks, place your foot on a sheet of paper and measure from heel to the longest toe.
GripWalk soles provide better walking comfort and are slightly curved. They require bindings with GripWalk compatibility. Alpine soles (ISO 5355) are flat and compatible with classic bindings.
If the boot pinches in certain places, we can adjust it with our boot fitting. Many liners can also be thermally molded – so the boot adapts perfectly to your foot.
On average about 80–100 days of skiing, depending on quality and care. Watch for cracks in the shell, worn buckles or a compressed liner – then a replacement is advisable.

Ski boot size guide
The easiest way to find the right ski boot size is with the Mondopoint system. This does not measure the usual EU boot size, but is based on the actual foot length in centimeters - plus 8 to 12 mm leeway, depending on your skiing style and comfort requirements.
How to measure correctly:
- Place your foot barefoot or in a thin sock on a sheet of paper
- Mark your heel and longest toe
- Measure the distance between the two points - this is your foot length
- Add approx. 8-12 mm to the measured length - this is your Mondopoint size
Example: Your foot measures 27.2 cm ➜ Mondopoint size approx. 28.0
Tip: Add 8 mm for sporty, precise riding and 10-12 mm for comfort. If you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you personally!

With the right Mondopoint size you'll find the ski boot that fits perfectly - for more comfort, control and fun on the slopes. If you have any questions, we will be happy to help you at any time!
