The Mountain Studio S-8 is the insulated ski jacket for cold days on the slopes: a three-layer ALP-3 stretch shell with a 30,000 mm water column, lined with PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation, 60 g in the body and 40 g in the sleeves. Warm enough for the chairlift at minus 15 degrees, but without the stiffness of a classic down or quilted jacket. Sky Captain is a deep navy blue.

The 40-denier stretch fabric—made of 85 percent nylon and 15 percent spandex—moves with you; the seams are fully taped; the zippers are YKK Aquaguard; and the DWR finish is PFAS-free. The large, helmet-compatible storm hood with an integrated visor is adjustable via a drawcord. High-reach sleeves and ergonomic elbow panels ensure that the jacket doesn’t ride up when using ski poles.

Who is the S-8 designed for?
For skiers and snowboarders who want a warm jacket in the ski resort that still fits and breathes like a technical shell. Those who do a lot of hiking or backcountry touring should choose the lighter Z-5 or the Z-2 EPE shell with a midlayer.
Care
Wash at 40 degrees or cold, inside out, separately, and with zippers closed. Use mild detergent; do not use fabric softener, bleach, or dry cleaning. Iron at a low temperature and tumble dry on low heat.

Men’s sizes feature an ergonomic, athletic cut that leaves room for a midlayer. If you wear thick midlayers underneath or prefer a looser fit, choose one size larger.
