During the fitting, walk a few meters and check whether there are any uncomfortable pressure points - you should also pay attention to even the smallest areas of pressure, as they can quickly lead to painful, chafed skin after a hiking tour lasting several hours. Also test whether you slip forward in the shoes or have a comfortable fit: The best way to do this is to stand on your tiptoes. The right lacing of the outdoor shoes is particularly important here. The upper material of most trekking shoes is usually made of leather or a synthetic membrane that offers plenty of breathability - Lowa shoes provide exactly this comfort. Both materials have positive and negative aspects that must be taken into account. Leather is usually much more robust and can withstand heavier loads, but must also be treated with appropriate waterproofing agents to make it water-resistant. With synthetic materials, additional treatment is often no longer necessary. In the rain, these also dry much faster than leather shoes.
