Heated socks FAQs - Frequently asked questions and answers

Heated socks are specially developed socks that contain integrated heating elements to keep your feet warm even in cold weather. They are powered by rechargeable batteries and distribute the heat evenly.

The runtime varies depending on the model and heating level. At a low level, the batteries can last up to 20 hours, at the highest level around 4-5 hours.

• Remove the rechargeable batteries or batteries.
• Wash the socks by hand or on a delicate cycle.
• Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
• Hang them up to dry, but avoid direct sunlight.

Most heated socks are available in size ranges (e.g. S/M, L/XL). Pay attention to the manufacturer's size chart and choose a size that matches your shoe size.

Yes, heating socks are safe as long as they are used correctly. Make sure they are certified and follow the operating instructions.

Most models offer 3 heating levels:

• Level 1: Low heat, long run time
• Level 2: Medium heat, medium running time
• Level 3: High heat, short running time

Each lithium pack comes with 3 x 2 colored rubber bands. These can be used for identification when using several lithium packs that are paired with the Lenz heat app. For example, the lithium packs for the heat socks and the heat vest can be color-coded. The elastic bands are attached to the middle of the lithium pack so that they cannot slip.

Furthermore, the lithium packs can also be marked per person if, for example, several people in a family use lithium packs.

Metallic objects such as avalanche shovels, probes, drinking bottles and heated gloves can influence electromagnetic fields. However, the technology used in Lenz heating products complies with all relevant legal guidelines.

Whether a Lenz product can be used in the vicinity of other sensitive electronic devices such as avalanche transceivers should be clarified directly with the manufacturer of these devices.

The lithium packs are not suitable for use in water or under water.

If the charging process does not start automatically after connection, please press the On/Off button on the lithium pack to start the charging process. The charging process and status can be checked using the LEDs on the lithium pack (not on the red batteries), which light up constantly in ascending order. The charging indicator lights up red during the charging process. As soon as the lithium packs are fully charged, the charging process ends automatically and the charging indicator switches to green or green-red flashing.

The exact charging process is also described in the operating instructions. The lithium packs can also be charged via a USB power bank using the enclosed USB charge cord.

Important: Please check the technical specifications of the power bank! Depending on the technical specifications, charging times may differ from those specified in the instructions for use.

The production code is located on the back of the lithium pack and consists of four digits, e.g. "2107".

Batteries with a production code up to "21xx"

• Make sure that no heating sock, vest, bandage, gloves or charger is connected to the lithium pack.
• Make sure that the Lenz Heat app has been completely and properly closed on your smartphone and that there is no active connection via Bluetooth to the lithium packs.
• Make sure that the lithium packs do not have an active connection to Bluetooth-compatible devices (BLE devices) in the vicinity.
• Press the function button on the lithium pack and switch the lithium pack back to standby mode.

Rechargeable batteries with production code from "22xx"

• The flashing of the middle LED in standby mode has been deactivated.

Please fully charge and discharge the lithium packs three times. This usually improves the capacity. If this is not the case, please contact our service center.

Heated textiles should not be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. People who cannot perceive heat or cold properly (e.g. diabetics, people with disabilities, etc.) or who have impaired skin sensitivity should consult a doctor before using heated textiles.

All lithium packs can be controlled manually using the push button. The rcB1200, rcB1800 and rcB2000 lithium packs can also be controlled via Bluetooth using the Lenz Heat app.

All smartphones with Android 4.3 or newer or Apple iOS 7.0 or newer (from iPhone 4s) can be used as a remote control for Bluetooth-compatible Lenz lithium packs. The free Lenz Heat App Basic is available in the Google Play Store and the Apple Store.

You can switch to the full version of the Lenz Heat App at any time and benefit from the following additional features:

• Stepless regulation of the heating levels
• Display of the battery charge level
• Control of up to 4 battery packs
• Integrated service contact

How to install

Download the Lenz Heat app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.

Pairing

Press the power buttons on your lithium packs for at least 10 seconds until they light up briefly 3 times and only the middle LED remains lit. The lithium packs are now in pairing mode. The available lithium packs are searched for and displayed using the "Start Scan" button. You can then assign the packs to the upper body or feet using the + button. Then press "Save" to connect the lithium packs to your smartphone.

Note

Pairing mode is active for 2 minutes. If there is no successful pairing during this time, this mode ends automatically!
